Day 7 (5-18-11)
Today the real job specific training began. After our morning devotion which was a prayer called "Lectio Divina" or reading scripture for what it is and praying through a chosen verse, we went to a house in Notasulga, Alabama where we worked on a house owned by a lady named Ms. Maggie. A group from Auburn's orientation staff was working on the house so we mainly just observed, but the main goal of the day had originally been to learn how to drywall, but after realizing how rotted the wood was we ended up having to cut out part of the ceiling before we could do anything else which took up our schedule until we finished by ending our work day eating lunch with Ms. Maggie which was a really cool experience. After lunch and returning to the parsonage we learned some about our basic job from Lisa and then about electric work from an electrician named Brett. We then had some free time until we drove to Auburn to eat dinner at the Auburn Wesley Foundation. This was the first time I'd seen Auburn's campus and I really liked it. I also saw the Lambda Chi Alpha House at Auburn and they had a really cool house. After dinner and volleyball we had the rest of the night off and went to McDonald's for Mcflurrys.
